Our Winning U11 Team
We are over the moon as our U11A girls’ cricket team were crowned County Cup champions after a thrilling day against friends at Norwich High School for Girls, Langley and Gresham’s.
This was closely followed by another win at the Orwell Park School Annual Girls’ Under 11 6-a-side Cricket Festival a couple of days later.
After an intense day, we secured three impressive victories to claim the title for the second time in four years.
Throughout the tournament, our girls showed exceptional teamwork and composure. When asked what the secret ingredients were for a successful day they said:
“We work well as a team and support one another. We talk to each other when we bat and in the field — we’re just a chatty team!”
“You have to stay calm and not panic.”
“Hitting a six was memorable.”
“We love playing cricket together as friends, it’s fun and it was a great experience.”
Lead coach, Mr Peter King added: “It’s a joy to watch the children grow in confidence as the cricket season develops and I know the girls are very excited for the regional finals next month.”
So stay tuned! The regional finals will be at Framlingham on 19th June.
